Notebook N° 23: P. Adams Sitney. Structural Film

The article of P. Adams Sitney, theoritian of New American Cinema and animator, with Jonas Mekas, of Anthology Film Archives, a real archive of experimental cinema in New York, was published in Film Culture N°47 (1969) under the title "Stuctural Film".

This article is about the cinema of structure which had particularly marked the evolution of american or foreign avant-garde cinema. A view of the independent cinema of the last 20 years before the publishing of the article and of isolated artists who had been working outside commercial cinema.
