Jean Painlevé : compilation n°2

The filmmaker has dedicated his life to a lush and passionate X-ray of the infinitely small, with a special fondness for aquatic fauna. As a visionary, he makes his singular images vibrate on the most eclectic contemporary music (see details below).

This DVD compiles 11 classic short films from the master of science cinema:

7. "Crabes et crevettes" (1929 - sonorisé par Maurice Jaubert)
8. "Traitement d'une hémorragie" (1930 - traitement d'une hémorragie chez le chien par injection d'un sérum - muet)
9. "Barbe bleue" (1935-38 - féérie en sculpture animée d'après le conte de Perrault)
10. "La quatrième dimension" (1936 - film de vulgarisation mathématique)
11. "Le vampire" (1939-45 - musique de Duke Ellington)
