The film celebrates the intersections between an aborted hike in the Roquebrune mountains and the failure of the film used for an impossible quest.
The failed quest of a hermit in the mountains of Roquebrune is transformed into a variation of material and colour between abstraction and figuration: rocks, plants, caves appear and disappear to the rhythm of the swaying of the figurine that gives its name to the film. The defects of the material, assumed and played, like so many other microscopic sanctuaries, respond through the filmic to this wandering of fortune.
