L’écart absolu poche publishes a series of texts and historical avant-garde documents, from Fluxus to the French Revolution. A practical collection given to read (to watch) the most radical forms of thought and build a small ideal library of marginalized individuals, censored, ostracized, banned.

Dick Higgins (1938-1998), musician, poet, researcher, theorist, intermedia artist, publisher, founded in 1965 editions Something Else Press (dedicated to his friends Fluxus). He published his first trial in 1964 Afterword. This is a critical newspaper that evokes the context in which appears Fluxus between 1959 and 1963. He bluntly analyzes the trends of his time and denounces artistic modes (Pop art, assemblage, New Realism), New Theatre (the Living Theater ) as the international style in music (musique concrete, electronic music, Stockhausen and Co.). This is a eulogy of plurality, diversity and abundance favorable to the "budding hundred flowers" and hatching "a thousand schools of thought" for the amateur, vehemently against the professional’s blindness. Here are exhibited the premises of his theory of the intermedia (1965) published in Fluxus dixit. An anthology in 2002 to presses du réel.
