"Presenting the artist as a rock star" sums up the editorial line of the Pleased to meet you collection, which aims to offer the most intimate and unique approach possible to the artist and his work. The choice of the “magazine” format, with a more free and relaxed structure than a catalog, is decisive in creating closeness and empathy. Contents of each title: an essay, an unpublished interview with the artist, illustrated pages as in the magazine press reproducing studio views, shootings, preparatory documents, as well as a dense and dynamic portfolio, processed like a journey through the work. Throughout its numbers, the collection draws up a genealogy of artists whose work was built on the margins, rare figures celebrated by restricted circles, sometimes referred to as artists of artists: William S. Burroughs, Dorothy Iannone , Richard Jackson, Steve Gianakos or André Cadere… The tenth issue is devoted to Marie Losier, whose work innervated by her private life combines drawings and films, installations and sets, in a euphoric and generous autofiction. Internationally recognized, Marie Losier is very regularly invited to festivals, her filmed work is the subject of retrospectives, her drawn work is shown in exhibitions. With a career spanning more than 20 years, however, no book traces the epic. This publication will therefore fill an editorial gap and undoubtedly satisfy the large and fervent audience of Marie Losier. This work intends to give access both to his filmography through still photographs, to his plastic work via reproductions of his drawings and views of his installations, but also to an archive treasure that the artist has carefully established. and preserved. Developed in close consultation with Marie Losier, this publication will be the most faithful possible reflection of her thought and her aesthetic universe.
