Description
Spectral was a truly ambitious European project where six artist-run analog film labs formed a network for four years, exchanging knowledge (in their own words: "empirical engineering"! ), jointly organizing events, hosting residencies, and fostering collaborations not only within "DIY" analog cinematic practices, but also forging connections with other artistic disciplines and new audiences.

All share a common enthusiasm for experimental cinema and its history, from the pioneers who invented moving images to avant-garde and underground films, and transmedia practices.
This book, designed by Pedro Nora and printed by Orgal in Porto, features a remarkable cover: a matte metallic coating on cardboard that appears to have a shimmering prismatic layer. A shimmer that shows through the slightest scratch (a bit like those scratch-off lottery cards!). The book summarizes the activities and results.
