CONTENTS
- Helga Fanderl – the woman with 1000 films. No editing after shooting, only a screening, nothing longer than three minutes, silent – Helga Fanderl's dogmas. The 78-year-old Berliner (and Parisian) has been a passionate Super 8 filmmaker since 1986. She travels all over the world with her films. "Just invite me," says the agile filmmaker. She's our discovery of the year!
- Workshops around the world. It has become so difficult to find a repair address for film cameras or projectors. Samuel Preston explored the world and conducted research: Who repairs what? The result is disappointing: there aren't many left. But at least 28 active businesses responded to our requests.
- Personalities in boxes – How to develop expired films? Ben Slotover, from the United Kingdom, has experience in developing old films. In this issue of Super 8 magazine, he reveals his best recipes. Another important point: which films are really worth watching?
- Impossible? It's possible: give Nizo sound cameras a new life. Stefan vom Stein describes the repair of Nizo Sound models. Until now, broken straps were considered a death knell for the camera. You have to remove all the internal components to replace the belts. Unless you do it like Stefan vom Stein.
- Narrow-gauge film in the Balkans – Super 8 in Romania. Karsten Weber from the Chaos Film Group in Kiel describes the journey to an analog paradise: Romania. Who would have thought? A glimpse of a film festival and a museum in the Balkans.
- A Kassel native in Paris: David Neumann dreams in Super 8. Analog photography and cinema fit perfectly in the city of love: Paris. Film enthusiast David Neumann also discovered this and tells us about his Super 8 films, all shot in his new home, on the Seine.
- In the next issue: Special edition "60 years of Super 8". An anniversary not to be missed. The unusual review of each year in the Super 8 cosmos. A subscription to our magazine is therefore already twice as interesting.
