Description
Christina Battle's colorful, hand-processed and hand-worked films explore the material and transformative possibilities of the cinematic medium. Using techniques such as cameraless animation and collage, she "paints and sculpts" directly on film. Her work interrogates constructed and natural environments, history and the act of collective memory, while expressing a fascination with weather and storms. The study guide includes an essay by Janine Marchessault, York University.
