Description
Robert Seidel's work is "an immersive experience, a sensual immersion in light, color, movement, sound and change" (Los Angeles Times). Seidel, who studied at the Bauhaus University Weimar, creates video installations, media facades and experimental films. He pushes the boundaries of abstraction toward the sublime and organic through approaches drawn from scientific visual analysis and digital extensions of painting and sculpture.
The DVD brings together his major films, videos and documentation from his projections and installations from 2001 to 2014.
"Robert Seidel's work is organo-tech. He doesn't seek to deliberately imitate the pioneers of abstract cinema and distances himself largely from the motion graphic chaos of many digital animation enthusiasts. His work is impressionistic, blending biological and emotional currents. Technically accomplished, his main success lies in the effect produced on our senses. It can be both emotional and epic, but also bring forth intimacy and suggest glimpses into the human condition."
— Matt Hanson, media futurologist and author of The End of Celluloid
