Description
"One could say that the very fragility of film stock, rendered uncanny by the dematerialization of electronic images, invites contemplation of change and chance, of birth and death. Such notions find in Reeves an eminently physical expression: in the fractal craquelure of altered pigments that adorn certain of her hand-assembled photograms, or in the undulating flows of thick, opalescent paint, sometimes studded with air bubbles like stars, that surge forth at other moments."
— Ed Halter, Artforum
"Structurally, Reeves has occupied a daring position by pushing the boundary between reason, obsessive memories, intimate madness, and society's drifts; at the intersection of psychic disorders, cultural artifacts, and the process of obscuring/dilating vision and consciousness, achieved by accumulating layers of images on a single strip of film."
— Bérénice Reynaud, Senses of Cinema
