Description
The BFI has collaborated with the inimitable Quay Brothers to release a truly comprehensive compilation of their short films on DVD; a world first. The Quays were deeply involved in the DVD's preparation, personally supervising the transfers, recording commentaries on select titles, and contributing to an exclusive 20-minute illustrated video interview.
This two-disc boxset, in deluxe packaging, brings together 13 Quay Brothers short films spanning 24 years, in brand new restored and remastered editions (six with new commentaries by the Quays), along with a collection of "marginal notes" including interviews, alternative versions, unrealized pilot projects, and more. An illustrated color booklet accompanies the set and offers an encyclopedic guide to the Quays' universe, as well as the original illustrated treatment for their best-known film, Street of Crocodiles. Includes a 24-page color booklet.
