Description
"Vivian Ostrovsky's cinema is an act of cultural resistance, intimate and humorous, a gesture that involves the filmmaker's entire body engaging in the filmic process, during her travels around the world with her camera and equipment, framing images through the camera-eye. She searches her personal archival images for cinematographic gestures made by others before her, to playfully edit them with her own Super 8 shots. Multiculturalism and multilingualism intertwine in a single poetics of displacement."
