Description
"Call to Mind" contains the films MY NAME IS OONA (1969), TIME BEING (1991) and RED SHIFT (1984), a trilogy centered on the theme of family. TRUE TO LIFE (2006) constitutes a separate commentary on the other films. The Blu-ray box set includes a catalogue with texts by Astrid Soderbergh Widding, Susanne Forest, Steve Anker and John Sundholm, in Swedish and English, as well as a large number of still images.
Gunvor Nelson's works have been presented at Moderna Museet in Stockholm, MoMA in New York and in numerous Cinemateks around the world, among other venues. Filmform now offers a selection of her films on Blu-ray. Over the years, Nelson has made some thirty films and videos, produced between 1953 and 1993, primarily in California; she now lives and works in her hometown of Kristinehamn.
