Description
Valérie Pavia has been present on the international visual arts scene for some ten years. Her wandering soul has nourished a substantial and mature body of work in the fields of video, photography, painting and writing. At the heart of her work are portraits: her own, those of others, but also those of the cities she has traveled through. By blending reality, fiction and autobiography, she seems to play on the chords of candor and naivety. On closer inspection of certain works, a cruelty also emerges that confronts the viewer with more intimate subjects and reveals an uncommon sensitivity and lucidity.
"Music is transformed into image. One of the rare artists capable of diving into the dark sea of memory, of real life, of discord with the lightness of a ballerina"
