Description
The violences and pleasures, contradictions, fears and desires of a planet shaped by the postcolonial condition, the future-present of our common humanity in a 21st-century global system undergoing radical change: these are the axes of IN/FLUX, approached from Africa and its diasporas by creators who refuse any simplistic approach or answer.
The works gathered in this third volume explore the stakes of the political body. They interrogate: how does the body function, willingly or not, as a site of political engagement? What kinds of experimentation does it lend itself to, and to what ends? Faced with the profoundly unequal power relations that characterize the era of late capitalism in which we live, what is its room for maneuver? What form of autonomy and action can it aspire to?
As with the two previous volumes, the emphasis here is primarily on urban spaces and cultures.
