Description
IN/FLUX is a series of three DVDs. Each disc brings together a selection of experimental films and videos from the African world. The violence and pleasures, contradictions, fears and desires of a planet shaped by the postcolonial condition, the present-future of our common humanity in a 21st-century global system undergoing radical change: these are the themes of IN/FLUX, approached from Africa and its diasporas by creators who refuse any simplistic approach or answer.
The works presented in the second volume address the dual theme of urban history and memory. They examine how past and present intersect in the city, interrogating, destabilizing, and sometimes profoundly disrupting the perception of one and the other.
Individually and collectively, they offer deeply rich perspectives, politically and ethically engaged, on urban conditions, cultures, and imaginaries.
