Description
The "Human Frames" film collection is devoted to the human being, the human condition, and the various states of mind that accompany us throughout life. Comprising ten thematic programs bringing together 99 works by contemporary artists and filmmakers from Europe and Asia, it explores themes such as happiness, desire, madness, fanaticism, fear, anger, isolation, and melancholy. The collection reexamines and illuminates human existence at the beginning of the 21st century, also incorporating the Oriental concept of Mono no aware ("the poignant beauty of things") and that of impermanence. "Human Frames" seeks to document the fruitful dialogue between images and ideas from both continents, while offering an in-depth view of the art video and experimental cinema scene. The result is a fascinating spectrum of artistic expressions—bold experiments with sound and image that, through their free association, compose a vibrant portrait of humanity.
