Description
For some years now, I have been telling the stories of my friends as well as my own story. You could say I'm making a novel. A novel with photos, films, notebooks, drawings, postcards, and a host of other things that I collect, that I accumulate in a vast but fragile sentimental and imaginary museum. This way of doing things involves the gift of self (sacrifice?), confrontation with others (love?), the permanent questioning of one's being and one's appearance. Friendship has become a language for me. Thanks to the photographic act—and cinematographic—the photographed friends—or filmed—become stars for a moment. Fleeting glory, certainly, but that is the nature of life. Thus, from this lost paradise that we persist in trying to recover, we seek to produce images and shadows in the waves of light and the dust of time, to believe in a magic that can accomplish brief and fleeting miracles.
