Description
This epic documentary subtly introduces the complex vision of renowned filmmaker and theorist Peter Kubelka (born in 1934 in Vienna). While his radical and pioneering cinematic work, extremely condensed, focuses on the very essence of cinema in about one hour, his famous lectures can extend over several hours. These lectures, dealing with "what cinema is" or "cooking as an art form," are often illuminated by the presentation of archaeological objects from Kubelka's eclectic collection. He considers his ongoing collecting as an extension of his filmmaking practice, thus exploring the evolution of humanity. Martina Kudláček has carefully woven an open portrait that goes beyond biography, revealing fresh insights into the cinematic phenomenon.
