7-inch vinyl with music by Jonas Mekas and his "gang".
Shortly after Jonas Mekas left this world, his close friends - the Gang - with whom he sang many songs, felt the need to send him a message of love. Thus was born this 7-inch vinyl titled "Song for Jonas".
The Gang performed this composition live at Jonas's memorial at St. Mark's Church in New York in the spring of 2019 and shortly thereafter recorded it at EastSide Sound studios. Each vinyl cover is unique and hand screen-printed, with the first 100 custom colored by members of the Gang. These copies have a black and white sleeve. The music draws inspiration from Lithuanian folk tradition.
