Filip Cenek aka VJ Vera Lukášová - real-time image manipulation in interaction with sound
The combination of live audio "micro-improvisations" (refined by musician Ivan Palacky) with live video manipulations (by video and VJ-artist Filip Cenek aka VJ Vera Lukášová), Carpets Curtains expresses an interesting and nuanced interaction of audio and visual material. With live visuals being primarily based on self-made video sequences in which the emphasis is on ambiguous "narration" while VJ software-errors are used to achieve new amoebic image qualities, the result is a principle or method of staying fixed to moving images, while canceling out the essential aspects for constructing concrete meaning. These visual approaches find parallels in Palacky's delicate musicalities, in which found objects and minimal electronics are merged to elegantly create small sonic blends.
