Description
Shot in Super-8 and blown up to 16mm, Flaming Ears is a German Blade Runner - the story of a sexual pyromaniac, her companion dressed in red plastic, and a vengeful comix artist - characterized by a fierce, punky pulse and gelatinous special effects. For a sapphic thriller, it's twenty times more fun than Basic Instinct.
"In 2700 - it was the year of the toads - the city of Asche was burned, a wild beast, too vast for its citizens who gathered in gloomy cellars. Just like the city, they were ready to piss in Death's face at any moment - the chances of survival for a pure heart were slim..."
Flaming Ears is a lesbian and fantastical science fiction film set in the year 2700 in the fictional city of Asche, plagued by flames. It follows the intertwined lives of three women: Spy, a comic book artist, Volly, a performance artist and sexual pyromaniac, and Nun, an amoral alien who has a predilection for reptiles. It's a story of love and revenge, and an antiromantic plea for love in all its forms. It's also a story peppered with sex, violence, and a pulsating soundtrack, a cyberdyke film that stimulates both body and brain".
