Description
Imprints is a collection of essays, interviews, ephemera, and personal reflections that trace the life and work of Louise Bourque. Since 1989, Louise Bourque has left her mark on Canadian experimental cinema. Her works often involve the physical manipulation of emulsion, the content of the work deriving from another type of imprint—that of memory and trauma—and her aesthetic also leaves its imprint on the work of other contemporary filmmakers dealing with commemorative processes and abstract imagery. Contributors to this volume include Stephen BROOMER, Nathan LEE, Michael SICINSKI, André HABIB, Sébastien RONCERAY, César USTARROZ, Patricia MACGEACHY, José SARMIENTO-HINOJOSA, Scott BIRDWISE, Dorottya SZALAY, Brian WILSON, Micah J. MALONE, Todd FRASER, Mike HOOLBOOM, Guillaume VALLÉE, Herménégilde CHIASSON, Amanda DAWN CHRISTIE, and Clint ENNS.
