Description
The Buharov brothers (aka: Kornél Szilágyi and Nándor Hevesi) have been working together for over 15 years. Their surrealist avant-garde films dance on the edge of art and cinematic art with an emphasis on social and political critique.
The starting point for the Igor and Ivan Buharov book is their 2012 exhibition at Galeriea Arsenal in Białystok, where they presented the film Rudderless extended into space, in the form of an installation.
The artist's book includes a selection of images from Igor and Ivan Buharov's films from 1995 to 2011, as well as drawings, paintings, photos and found images. The texts are taken from the films, and there are also quotes—from texts by, among others—Mikhail Bakunin, Piotr Kropotkin, Ottó Tolnai, István Domonkos—which are significant for the artists.
