Description
This artist's flip book is conceived from the eponymous abstract film, made by Christian Lebrat in 1982. The flip book works tête-bêche, in both reading directions corresponding to the two sections of the original film. It is inserted in a slipcase. The resulting object offers a way to view the film in another form.
For the curious, collectors, flip-book enthusiasts.
Limited edition of 800 copies.
Christian Lebrat
Photographer, filmmaker and video artist, Christian Lebrat has made some twenty films, videos and performances since 1976. In 1997, he published with Paris Expérimental, a collection of texts and lectures on his films (Entre les images).
Strongly marked on one hand by abstract expressionist painting and, on the other, by the radicalism of Peter Kubelka's films, Christian Lebrat's filmic work is characterized by the decomposition of the image into fragments (bands of light) with the aim of exploding the frame of the image and creating unprecedented color intensities.
