Description
"One could endlessly unravel this tightly woven mesh of signs and echoes, which each viewing of the film can further enrich. It is that Hanoun's formal work on the fragment and the flash-shot, sometimes almost subliminal, on the variation and repetition of the (almost) same, which concerns postures as much as dialogues (very often repeated, in the same shot or from a different angle), this work reveals something of the film's interiority, of the unconscious of its creation which becomes that of its figures. The nesting aspect should not mislead, it is almost the opposite of a distancing that ultimately takes place. The more Hanoun compresses dreams of dreams (of films) into one another, the more he touches the intimate."
