FOMA Cine ORTHO is a unique type of film offering high optical sensitivity with a variable exposure setting range from ISO 160 to 800.
Thanks to its high sensitivity, it is easy to shoot even in unfavorable lighting conditions and to use various conversion, effect or other camera filters.
The resulting effect, called the "ORTHO" effect, is particularly suited to artistic, stylized and experimental filmmaking, for example for expressive portrait imagery.
Its increased sensitivity in the green part of the light spectrum allows for more "plastic" and nuanced shooting of landscapes and sets.
Compared to reversal films, the development of FOMA Cine ORTHO negative film is significantly simpler (developer – stop bath – fixer – water), and it is possible to use common developers such as those from Foma, Ilford, Kodak, Tetenal, etc.
Thanks to its reduced spectral sensitivity, the undeveloped film can be briefly handled under safelight, preferably orange or red in color (585 nm and above).
This film is very well suited to digital scanning as well as subsequent theatrical projection with a digital projector.
