Description
This book traces filmmaker Guy Debord's struggle through the labyrinth of History in the second half of the 20th century. It examines his poetics, inseparable from a political refusal of all compromise. His work is based on the principle of negativity, which lies at the heart of a dialectical contradiction: producing art while insisting on its impossibility. As the revolutionary horizon gradually fades, Debord transforms this negativity into "evil," the only means of escaping the bourgeois ideology of happiness.
