"This edition brings together the only two documentaries made to date by Patrick Bokanowski, filmmaker of the imaginary. For 35 years, he has delivered films rich in strange characters within mental environments, walking a tightrope between the figurative and the abstract. But here, rather than weaving fantastic dreams, he presents us with two remarkable personalities who are themselves revealers of the imaginary and of dreams. The two documentary films bear witness to the work of a painter, Henri Dimier, and a psychotherapist, Colette Aboulker-Muscat—two visionaries who, paradoxically, see better with their eyes closed than open. These two encounters marked the filmmaker's life and, even though a 20-year gap separates the two films, it is evident that strong bonds unite the filmmaker with each of these two figures."
