Description
Sandy Ding is an experimental filmmaker who lives and works in Beijing, China. A 2007 graduate of CalArts Film School, he has been teaching at the Central Academy of Fine Arts of China since 2008. He has produced several psychoactive films with the idea of introducing a ritual process into projection and sound. His work focuses on energetic rhythms, evoking mysteries through abstractions or strong symbolic elements. He is also interested in live projection performances in theaters, atypical projections in galleries, installations, and live experimental music as means of expanding the notion of experimental film.
