Description
On January 10, 1962, in the turbulent context of the antipsychiatry movements, the Club Antonin Artaud was founded in Brussels, initiated by former mental patients and some of their therapists. In this avant-garde space, designated as a center for social and cultural rehabilitation, Boris Lehman created a filmmaking group, the first of its kind. Over eighteen years, about a hundred films were made, individually or collectively: documentaries, fiction films, and experimental films. These are not therapeutic films; they are rather experiments in art brut. We have selected seven of them.
