Description
The DVD collection Experimental Film Collection by Cinédoc Paris Films Coop aims to promote major works from the heritage of avant-garde and experimental cinema. Claudine Eizykman, who passed away in June 2018, was co-founder of Paris Films Coop in 1974 and Cinédoc in 1979, where she served as president until 2018. Filmmaker and theorist, an essential figure of the French experimental revival of the 1970s, she leaves behind an important body of cinematic work composed of a dozen films among the most original and aesthetically accomplished of the experimental movement of the 1970s-1980s, which remain to be discovered or rediscovered by audiences.
The extreme originality of her cinematic work is distinguished by the complexity of an image construction of great sophistication. Her films as a whole allow us to rediscover this French avant-garde which played a key role in the evolution of experimental cinema in France.
