Description
For over 40 years, James Benning has been a singular and engaged voice in American independent cinema. This 2-DVD box set, the first in a planned series dedicated to the filmmaker's work, presents for the first time on DVD two of his major works from the 1980s: American Dreams (lost and found) is the filmmaker's personal look at American history from 1954 to 1976, told through a complex and stimulating assemblage of images, texts, and sounds. In Landscape Suicide, Benning effortlessly crosses the boundaries between narrative and documentary by retracing two famous murder cases that occurred nearly 30 years apart.
