Description
From his early short films shot in Madrid in the 1960s, his first features made in Paris in the 1970s, his critically acclaimed Flammes (reissued in Paris this spring by Capricci), as well as Grenouilles and Merlin, more ambitious but rarely seen, and up to his recent personal essays shot on digital; the works of Adolpho Arrietta span a multitude of styles and themes, offering a singular grace, a poetic sensibility and a sharp eye refreshing in its composition, rhythm and original characters. The box set includes five DVDs with booklets, critical texts and new introductions to the films, which are subtitled in English, French and Spanish. Each of the thirteen films made by Arrietta between 1965 and 2008 are edited with the director's most recent cut, and remastered from the best available sources.
