Description
This Super 8 cartridge hub adapter is a small, friction-fit insert that remedies film slip and drive failure problems encountered with rear-loading Super 8 cameras (such as Canon 814, Bauer C-series, etc.). It provides a solution to a common problem for Super 8 camera owners: some modern cartridges have a slightly recessed hub. Rear-loading cameras struggle to make a reliable and consistent connection with this recessed part, preventing the film from winding or advancing correctly during shooting, causing jams or leaving the film unexposed. This small 3D-printed adapter fits directly into the cartridge core by friction; it fills the gap, prevents slippage, and ensures the camera effectively drives the film reel.
The adapter can be installed and removed for reuse on multiple cartridges. However, the gears of some cameras may damage the adapter if it is removed improperly. Damaged parts are neither replaceable nor refundable.
