A wide-angle optical adapter designed to attach to the lens of the Beaulieu 6008 camera in order to broaden the field of view beyond that of the standard optics. Called aspheric because it incorporates lenses whose surface is not strictly spherical, which reduces certain geometric aberrations and improves sharpness and edge-to-edge clarity compared to a standard converter.
