Philippe-Alain Michaud - Sur le film

This book proposes a retrospective, nonlinear reading of the history of moving images: it relies on an analysis of filmic thought as it unfolds, independently of its technical applications, and constitutes a tracking of the way in which the properties of the film, disjoined from the apparatus which conditions the cinematographic spectacle, act in the different fields of the artistic practices.
