Cécile Fontaine is a master in found footage and in the technique of the lifting images from a film, a technique she has perfected, which consists in taking off, manipulating and then transferring images from one format to another. She is one of the most important representatives of experimental cinema from the 80s and 90s.
The detailed description by Stefano Masi of the films and processes invented by the filmmaker takes us into the vertigenous depths of Cécile Fontaine's creations that lie on the borders of dreams, politics and play where a plastic intensity clashes with primacy to formal invention.
Followed by a reasoned filmography.
