This lens has been refurbished and verified by our technician who has over 20 years of experience with this brand. The lens was opened, repaired, cleaned, lubricated, reinforced and checked with precision equipment. These repairs are covered by a 90-day warranty. If you notice a problem with your goal within 90 days, you can return it for repair or replacement.

Mechanical condition:   Excellent. Focus and aperture work as they should.  Electronic Eye light meter also functioning.
Optic condition:     Impeccable Front, Rear and internal lens elements are super clear. There are no scratches, no cleaning marks, no internal haze, no fungus, no separation, no coating or any other defects.  One interior lens element that is prone to discoloration due to its radioactive components ( rhodium ) has been UV-treated to remove discoloration in order to provide better color rendition
Cosmetic condition:    Good condition. Lens housing show normal signs of use for its age. Slight scratches.  No serious damage.

Sold with original front and rear lens caps, metal sunshade, a Bolex turret locking cap and a battery for the light meter.

Vario Switar 86EE (18mm-86mm f/2.5)
This lens was introduced in 1964, as the first "Electric Eye" 16mm zoom lens. It was designed specifically for H-16 reflex cameras and featured a fully automatic diaphragm control with a cadmium sulphide photo resistor which was sensitive to film ratings from 10-400 ASA. The exposure meter was powered by one (1) PX-13 1.35v mercury cell battery. Minimum aperture of f/16. Weight: 2 lbs, 4 oz. Accepts Series VIII filters.
