Ce DVD en édition limitée présente une rare performance de Gidal, au cours de laquelle il interroge sa propre pratique en tant que cinéaste et théoricien expérimental à travers la théorie théâtrale de Brecht. S’y ajoutent deux de ses œuvres filmiques majeures tardives ainsi qu’un nouveau texte produit par Gidal pour accompagner la performance.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\" data-rte-preserve-empty=\"true\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eNé en 1946, Peter Gidal a étudié le théâtre, la psychologie et la littérature à l’Université Brandeis (Massachusetts) et à l’Université de Munich. Il a également étudié au Royal College of Art entre 1968 et 1971, où il a ensuite enseigné les études cinématographiques avancées. Membre actif du London Filmmakers’ Co-operative, il a aussi cofondé l’Independent Film-makers’ Association. Ses films ont été projetés au niveau national et international, notamment à la Tate, à la Hayward Gallery, au Museum of Modern Art de New York, au National Film Theatre et au Festival du film d’Édimbourg.
