His early work consists of several experimental short films, all created using a powerful technique for manipulating filmed images that he has mastered to perfection: optical printing. In 1990, he earned a master's degree in filmmaking at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, thanks to a full merit scholarship. His complete body of work has been presented at numerous festivals and various venues around the world, receiving multiple awards and genuine recognition within the underground cinema milieu.

In parallel, the filmmaker creates and shoots music videos, practices photography and, since 1993, has taught optical printing, filmmaking and the technical aspects of cinema at the Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema in Montréal. He has had complete retrospectives of his work in San Francisco, Humboldt, at Parc cinéma in Montréal and, more recently, at the Cinémathèque québécoise.

In 2007, he completed production of The 4th Life, a 35mm feature film co-written with James Galwey, distributed at several international festivals as well as in theaters in Canada.
