The Film Gallery is proud to announce its presence at the

FIAC 2005    Future Quake

  Stand A21      Hall 5-1      October 6-10.

Cinema is an art, for GodÕs sake!

Maurice Lemaitre

The first art gallery devoted exclusively to experimental cinema, film and artist videos, The Film Gallery will promote fine art cinema displayed in its original format, and specifically in 16mm, in the context of this international contemporary art event.

The Film Gallery artists work essentially with the medium of cinema or explore it through other forms (drawing, photography, objects, sculpturesÉ). On the edge between various forms of experimentation, they interweave with other fields such as visual art (Jeff Scher, Paul Sharits) and poetry (Peter Rose) and many of them have participated in multidisciplinary art movements: Dada (Hans Richter, Viking Eggeling), Letterism (Maurice Lemaitre) or Fluxus (Jonas Mekas, Yoko Ono, Takahiko IimuraÉ).

By presenting these works at the FIAC, we hope to give, or give back, a place to filmmakers in the field of contemporary art and to allow films to be recognized as art.

The gallery is devoted to the display, distribution and sale of art cinema, experimental film and video.
